In the work of Eladio Gonzalez there is a double valence in the dimensional
possibilities which he so masterfully dominates, painting and sculpture.
It is what elevates him into that category of creative pioneers who, with
their roots in the spiritual and the carnal of the Cuban identity, can
bring forth an image that, in the fullness of its values, brings back
an absolute of freedom, an absolute in which fight itself conjures a confluence
of form and color in the imagination.
In this work - where fascination of the sculptural bronze grows precipitously
- there works a particular alchemy. Here the form, with all its eroticism
and sensuality, joins with the abstract, the idea, the distillate of the
substantive tension of the poetry of this undertaking, as refined as any

His is the supreme capacity to combine dimensions, the magic of form,
the infinity within a dazzling kaleidescope, and also the definitive feel
of the heartbeat of the creation in its mysterious and evidential certainty.
His creation thus comes to us in its suddenness and its eternity. In its
surprise and in the anticipation through intuition. In its profound and
honest creativity and in its highly stylized workmanship. Again, in its
poetry and in its beauty. His intensity is the ultimate from a master
in his lineage.

Hay en la obra de Eladio Gonzalez una doble valencia en las posibilidades
dimensionales que domina con maestria: la pintura y la escultura. Es la
que lo inscribe en esa categoria de creadores que, arraigados en los signos
de identidad de la espiritualidad y la carnalidad de lo cubano, saben
establecer una imagen que, asumiendo todos sus valores, reivindica un
absoluto de libertad. Ese absoluto en que la imaginacion es tanto confluencia
de forma dominada como de color en que la luz es un conjuro.
Hay en esta obra - en que el bronce, lo escultorico, es cada vez mas precipitado
fascinante - una singular alquimia. Es la que hace confluyan con armonia
la forma, en toda la fuerza de su erotismo y sensualidad, y esa abstraccion
en que la idea es la destilacion que acentua la carga, la tension sustantiva
de la poesia de este quehacer tan refinado como a ras de mundo.
Gonzalez es uno de esos artistas que, en incesante andadura por los territorios
de la imagen, establece en la encarnacion de cada una de sus esplendidas
piezas, un nuevo territorio de insolita creatividad y posibilidad. Es
suya la suprema capacidad combinatoria de las dimensiones, la magia de
la forma, lo infinito del caleidoscopio deslumbrante y, tambien, el definitivo
sentido del latido de la criatura en su certidumbre de misterio y de envidencia.
Asi, su creacion se nos entrega en su subito y en su siempre. En su sorpresa
y en el anticipo de la intuicion. En su profunda honestidad creativa y
en su depurado oficio. De nuevo, en su poesia y en su belleza. Es el mas
de un maestro de estirpe.
