October 3, 2007 - The work of Puerto Rican artist Oscar Martinez is on display at the Union League Club. The artist said his work attempts to capture the folklore, myth ,spirituality and beauty of his native home. Martinez adds his artwork is about creating stories and dramas based on reality, dreams and imagination.

"I am also working with symbols," said Martinez. Martinez uses figures, shapes, forms, and bold and bright colors to create a range of possibilities. His says his work is spiritual and metaphysical. "I am a figurative expressionist artist," said Martinez.

His work will be on display at the Union League Club throughout October. The public is welcome, but must call to make an appointment.
